Light shows combine technology, precision, and artistic expression to create massive displays at night. At Drotek, we design and manufacture the systems that make these performances possible from our facilities in France and the United States.
To showcase this expertise, Drotek recently assembled its teams and Crystal Drones for an internal show. With no end client or external event involved, the show gave us a chance to bring our technology, people, and expertise together for a full-scale production, from ground installation to the final art.
Bringing a Large-Scale Show to Life
A successful show begins long before the drones appear in the sky. For this project, Drotek and Crystal Drones worked together to prepare the ground installation, organize the equipment, and coordinate the teams involved.
The show itself featured several animated sequences, including the Mosaic logo, Drotek’s show design software, and the Crystal Drones logo. These elements brought the technology and the collaboration behind the project directly into the artwork displayed at night.
From the initial setup to the final flight, every stage was coordinated to deliver a precise and synchronized show at scale. The result combined creative design with the technology and expertise required to bring complex shapes and animations to life above the ground.
A Collaboration with Crystal Drones
The project joined Drotek and Crystal Drones together around a shared production, combining their French expertise to prepare and execute the show. From ground setup and equipment preparation to flight coordination, both teams contributed to bringing the show to life.
For Drotek, the project also reflects the capabilities developed within our French operations. Our engineering and production teams work together to design and manufacture professional light show systems, while our technical expertise extends through their preparation and use in real-world conditions.
The result is more than a presentation in the night. It demonstrates what French engineering, manufacturing, and industry partners can achieve when they combine their know-how on a professional show.
From Technology to the Night Sky
The final display was made possible by the different elements of the Drotek ecosystem working together. IO Star 3 carried the lights into the sky, while the Ground Control Station (GCS) handled the flight management and synchronization of the fleet.
On the ground, the IO Pad supported the preparation and deployment of the IO Star, while the IO Station provided the infrastructure required to manage and charge the batteries. The show itself was designed with Mosaic, Drotek's show design software, combining the creative concept and flight technology together.
Once in the air, the IO Star 3 transformed the planned artwork into a synchronized display of lights and shapes above the site. The result illustrates how the different components of a professional show system work together, from ground preparation to the final image.
A Show Designed to Be Remembered
From the first light taking off to the final formation in the sky, the show combined technology and creativity in a single visual experience. The lights, shapes, and logos appeared above the site in perfect synchronization, turning the project into art, designed to be seen and remembered.
