Automation and Modeling Engineer INTERNSHIP - Drone Light Show

Mission

Drotek is developing and producing a solution for autonomous swarm drones designed for light shows (Drone Light Shows). As part of the Engineering Department, you will contribute to the design of the future drone in the range as an intern engineer in control systems.

The tasks will include:

  • Developing the dynamic model of the drone and tuning control laws in simulation.
  • Adjusting the prototype's autopilot (Px4), Kalman filter, and safety levels.
  • Conducting flights and analyzing recorded data.
  • Analyzing improvements compared to the initial settings.

You will work collaboratively with software and hardware teams on a complex model equipped with numerous sensors.

You may also be involved in working at a higher level on innovative trajectory planning models for drone shows: avoidance strategies, 'boids-like' behaviors, dynamic path changes...

Required profile

With an engineering or Master's degree (Bac+5) in control systems, you are looking for a 6-month internship to complete your studies. Interested in drones, you aim to apply your skills in a practical application of swarm drone flights. You demonstrate precision and initiative, and are eager to work in a small-sized organization.

Required Skills

  • Control systems: MatlabSimulink, Kalman (EKF), quaternion
  • Understanding of the operation and dynamics of a quadcopter
  • Python development
  • C/C++ development, use of an autopilot (Px4)
  • Optional interests or knowledge:

    • Drone piloting, modeling

    • Use of Linux and Git
